# LoomUp server response timings

LoomUp server response timings are listed below:

Authentication – 0.39 ms
Authorisation – 0.004 ms
Database – 3 ms
JSON serialisation – 1.6 ms
Usage metering – 9 ms

I suspect most of the 80 ms lies beyond my control. The DEL-BLR trip appears to consume the greatest share of time.

If I carry out metering after the response is sent, I could recover more of that 9 ms.

> Removing the Cloudflare proxy reduced response time to under 85ms for reused connections, though cold connections remain near 300ms, largely due to network delay. Cloudflare added roughly 200ms in round-trip latency, so I removed it.
