# 43 requests per second and a 341 ms p95

*18 September 2026 · Infrastructure, Performance*

Some recent observations on this project:
- CPU usage has risen to about 30%.
- The project handles roughly 43 requests per second, accounting for 98% of server load.
- Latency shows a p95 of 341 ms, while the median is just 4 ms.

The other project shows:
- p95 at 59 ms and a median of 2 ms.

I suspect SQLite is the bottleneck, likely driven by inserts, though this is only a hunch. It might involve authentication, resource waits, database work, or response preparation.

> The custom Rust server handled 3 million requests yesterday from one project. This month exceeds 12 million. At this rate, it could outperform Cloudflare Workers pricing.
>
> Pricing the worker at $0.30 per million yields $3.6. One write per request costs $1 per million, or $12. The total is $15.6, excluding CPU use, SQLite storage, and read counts.
>
> This outcome is exciting, and I want to know precisely how much I am saving. I will keep you updated.
